The Effectiveness Company supports CP
Cerebral palsy (CP) is a term used to describe a group of disorders affecting body movement and muscle co-ordination. The medical definition of Cerebral Palsy is a non-progressive but not unchanging disorder of movement and/or posture, due to an injury to or anomaly of the developing brain. Development of the brain starts in early pregnancy and continues until about age three. Damage to the brain during this time may result in Cerebral Palsy. This damage interferes with messages from the brain to the body, and from the body to the brain. Cerebral Palsy can’t be cured, but with intense therapy and training, a person with CP can learn different ways to do things.
The United Cerebral Palsy Association of South Africa (U.C.P.A) currently provides round the clock care to 46 residents of all nationalities, ranging in age from 3 to 37 years. The U.C.P.A is dependent on funds and donations to sustain and upgrade facilities to the residents.
This is one institution that The Effectiveness Company’s CEO Suzanne Ravenall has a long history with in supporting their efforts. The Effectiveness Company will continue in supporting them and made this month once again another donation.
